Why this one is on the site
Most cooling mats are gel-filled, and gel mats get punctured. This is quilted fabric, which means the worst case is a wash rather than a bin. That is the entire reason it is the one we stock.

- Lay it flat on a shaded floor.
- Let him find it. Most dogs work it out in a day or two.
- Wipe it clean when it needs it, fold it away when the season ends.
No water, no electricity, nothing to freeze or charge.

It is a cooler surface than a warm floor. It is not refrigerated, and it will not bring a dog's temperature down in an emergency. A dog in heat distress needs shade, water and a vet, not a mat.
It also does not stay cold if it is left in the sun. Put it somewhere shaded or it becomes an ordinary mat.

How do I know what size to order?
Measure, do not guess, and use the chart on the product page rather than your dog’s breed. Chest girth is the widest part of the chest. Back length is the base of the neck to the base of the tail. Breed names are a bad proxy: two staffies can be three sizes apart.
My dog is between two sizes. Which one?
Email us the two measurements before you order and we will tell you which one we would send. For anything worn, we normally go up. For mats, the size below is usually the one that actually gets used, because it fits the spot the dog already sleeps in.
How long does delivery take?
2 to 4 working days to most South African addresses, dispatched from Cape Town. You get a tracking number when the parcel is collected, not when the order is placed.
How does the name on the hoodie work?
Type his name in the box on the product page, exactly as you want it printed. We still message you to confirm the spelling before anything goes to print. That adds a few days, and it is worth it.
What if it is wrong when it arrives?
Tell us within 30 days and we will sort out a return on anything unused and in its packaging. No restocking fee. Personalised items are the exception, which is why we confirm the spelling first.
Are these vet recommended?
