Measure your pet curled up at their widest, then go one size larger. A donut bed that is slightly too big still works; one that is too small gets ignored. Not every colour comes in every size.
What it does not do
It is a round bed, so a dog that sleeps stretched flat on its side will hang over the edge and be happier with something rectangular. And calming is a shape, not a treatment: if your dog is genuinely anxious, this helps at bedtime, it does not fix the anxiety.

Take it out of the bag and shake it. It ships compressed, so it looks smaller than it is for the first day.
- Put it in a corner, not the middle of a room. The whole appeal is having something at your back.
- Drop in a blanket that already smells like the house.
- Leave it alone. Most animals claim it within a day or two.
Cold machine wash, gentle cycle, line dry, shake the rim back into shape while it is still damp.

It does not treat anxiety. A dog that panics in thunderstorms or when you leave the house needs a plan, and possibly a vet. A bed with a rim helps at bedtime, and that is the honest limit of it.
It does not suit a sprawler. A dog that sleeps flat on its side will drape over the rim.
It is not waterproof, and it is not chew-proof.

How do I know what size to order?
Measure your animal curled up at its widest point, add about 15cm, and match that to the outside diameter. The rim takes roughly 15cm off the usable space inside.
Does a calming bed actually calm a dog?
It gives a curled sleeper something to press against, and most settle faster in one. It does not treat anxiety. A dog that panics in storms or when you leave needs a plan and possibly a vet.
It arrived smaller than I expected
It ships compressed. Shake it out and give it a day before you decide. If it is still wrong after that, the return window is 30 days.
How long does delivery take?
2 to 4 working days to most South African addresses, dispatched from Cape Town. You get a tracking number when the parcel is collected, not when the order is placed.
